The Moment: Now Showing | Sam Haskins I first interviewed the photographer Sam Haskins in 2004. At the time, his brand of unstudied girlie glamour - popularized in his seminal '60s books ''Cowboy Kate & Other Stories,'' "November Girl" and ''Five Girls'' - was influencing fashion photographers, designers and stylists, just as it had done for over three decades. Not that the South African-born Haskins was thrilled with the collective air kiss. "A lot of it is mindless homage," he bristled on the phone from Australia, where he now lives. Last week, I caught up for a one-on-one video interview with Haskins, who was in town to promote "Fashion Etcetera," his first book in over 20 years. (On Sunday, Haskins suffered a moderate stroke in his hotel room, and he remains in the hospital.) Published in partnership with the designer Tommy Hilfiger, the monograph is available in a standard version ($67.50) and in a special edition ($100) - both of which are sure to prolong the fashion world's longstanding crush on him (and the countless salutes to his oeuvre).
